BSkyB, the Satellite broadcaster, has won the right to show most Champions League football matches between 2009-2012.
U.E.F.A the tournament organiser said that the firm won exclusive rights to show coverage of live matches and highlights on a Tuesday.
BSkyB has also gained the rights to show all games on a Wednesday, with the exception of the first-choice fixture.
U.E.F.A said it had received bids for the remaining rights. ITV and the BBC are tipped to be interested in bidding.
This new arrangement now gives BSkyB as many as 15 matches a week, one more from the present arrangement.
The Satellite company now shares rights to the final and European Super Cup, which pits the Champions League winner against the holder of the U.E.F.A Cup.

The 38 year old, who is months away from giving birth has told a US magazine that she is already preparing herself for sleepless nights.

She is still refusing to name the father, but comments on the red carpet by her co-star Eddie Izzard has continued to feed speculation about their relationship.

Russell Watson is planning a UK tour later this year after ending treatment for a brain tumour.
The opera star will be performing at 13 venues, beginning in Glasgow on 9th June and ending in Newcastle on 7th July.
Watson has only just finished a five week course of radiotherapy after a tumour was discovered. Doctors feared the surgery could destroy his career.
Surgeons were forced to operate through his mouth to remove the tumour as they had operated through his nose 12 months previous.
Russell Watson’s full UK tour will include dates in Cardiff, Brighton, Plymouth, Oxford, Portsmouth, Bournemouth, Sheffield, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester and London.

The final Harry Potter book has been split into two blockbuster adventure films, Warner Bros has confirmed.
The announcement came after producer, David Heyman told reporters it would be impossible to include everything from the book in just one film.
Fans of Harry Potter have been left disappointed in the past when key scenes have not been included in the film adaptations.
Daniel Radcliffe told reporters in LA that splitting the final novel in two was the only sensible thing to do.
The first part of ‘Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows’ is due out in autumn 2010, with second part scheduled for the following summer.

Music acts around the British Isles have spoken out in support of the Astoria music venue, which is set to be demolished to make way for London’s new Crossrail service.
Mayor Ken Livingstone confirmed the decision, despite an online petition to save the venue.
Bands understood to have supported the petition included Kaiser Chiefs, Franz Ferdinand and Maximo Park.
Mayor Livingstone says a new music venue will be built as a replacement.
The Astoria on London’s Charing Cross Road was first opened in 1927 as a cinema and was converted to a theatre in 1976.
Bands that have played there include Nivana, Radiohead and The Rolling Stones.
This is the second London venue to close its doors in the past 12 months. The Hammersmith Palais shut its doors to make way for a residential development.
