English comic actor and director (1889-1977), Chaplin was one of the world's best-known stars in the silent era and his unique brand of slapstick comedy gained him a legion of fans. We have an 8x10" vintage newspaper stock photograph of Chaplin with former World Champion boxer Charles "Kid" McCoy (aka Norman Selby). Signed and inscribed to McCoy in black ink: "To one X champ from another X champ. Charl. Chaplin". As a newspaper stock photograph there is some pre-Photoshop editing to the photograph in black ink, adding definition to the image. "Aug 14 1924" date stamp to verso alongside various notations and the newstory pasted to the back. With light brushing to the "T" of "To", otherwise excellent condition.
