Valuations for probate and insurance purposes can be arranged for suitable properties. This service encompasses a full review and a written valuation document.
Fraser’s Autographs is part of Stanley Gibbons Plc, one of the foremost names in philatelic collecting, so you can be assured that our trusted authentication and valuation of your autographs will be entirely accurate. The authentication and valuation process is based upon our extensive working knowledge and involvement within the autograph industry, expertise in the area of autograph analysis and our professional experience, alongside a comparison with other existing examples of autographs (authentic as well as forged) and any available literature.
Please note that no valuation will be made over the phone. Material for valuation can be brought to our London premises, posted using a secure tracking service. The valuation process can take a maximum of twenty eight working days to complete, upon which you are provided with the completed authentication and valuation service documentation.
The authentication and valuation of a single item costs 2.5% of the final valuation set by Fraser’s Autographs and an initial fee of £100. The fees for the service are variable depending on the volume of work required.
Please be aware that should your autograph prove not to be authentic then the £100 will not be refunded as the assessment has still taken place. Fraser’s will still provide a breakdown of the assessment should a refund be pursued from the original seller.
Please be aware that we do not provide the service for material which is framed and especially glazed as it can affect an accurate conclusion if we are not able to view the original item, free of presentation material.
Please note that collections of modern entertainment and sport memorabilia are outside the scope of our valuation service.
We are happy to provide additional services in relation to the Authentication and Valuation assessment;
Colour, full size photocopies of individual autographs: £5 per copy.
A breakdown of the property into individual components (e.g. per collection theme or per personality) with an additional valuation fee of £10 per component
