CHOOSE YOUR BIDDING METHOD:
Effective bidding techniques:
INTERNET BIDDING
Fraser’s online bidding system is fun and easy! Before you start, you must register your account at www.frasersautographs.com and create your Email and Password login information.
- Log in to the frasersautographs.com website, using your Email and Password
- Chose the category or personality you are interested in on the auctions page (i.e. art, authors – Johnny Depp, Queen Victoria etc.)
- Search or browse for the lots that interest you by lot number, every postal auction has search features and ‘drop-down’ menu lists
- Select a lot by clicking on the link or the photo icon. Read the description, and view the full-colour scan of the item
- View the current opening bid
- If the current price is within your range, Bid! At the bottom of the lot page is a box containing the Current Bid and an entry box for “Your maximum bid” – the maximum amount you are willing to pay for the item before the Buyer’s Premium is added. Click the button marked “Place Bid”
- The maximum bid system makes bidding even more convenient. Simply leave the maximum amount you are prepared to bid on any lot (excluding commission and VAT) and we will increase your bid as necessary in increments up to that figure. This service is confidential and if we receive no other bids, your maximum bid will not be activated.
- Once you are satisfied that all the information is correct, confirm “Your Maximum Bid”. You will receive immediate notification by email letting you know if you are now the top bidder, or if another bidder has previously bid higher than your amount with a maximum bid
- Should another bidder surpass “Your maximum bid”, you will be notified automatically by e-mail containing a link to review the lot and the chance to bid higher
- Internet bidding closes at 10pm GMT on the indicated closing date
- As the high bidder, “Your maximum bid” will compete for you whilst you are away from your computer. Of course, it is possible that you may be outbid by a postal or telephone bid up until 5.30pm GMT on the night of the closing date
- After the auction, you will be notified within ten working days of your success either by mail, telephone or email. It’s always best to provide your payment details when you register as your winning lots can then be processed and sent out as soon as possible
It’s that easy!
MAIL BIDDING
Mail bidding at auction is fun and easy, but by eliminating the interactivity of our online systems, some of your bids may be outbid before you lick the stamp!
- Look through the printed catalogue, and determine which lots are of interest
- Fill out your bid sheet, entering your maximum bid on each lot. Bid using whole Pound Sterling amounts ONLY bidding up in increments from the reserve price shown. Verify your bids, because you are responsible for any errors you make! Please consult the Bidding Increments in the Terms & Conditions or on the reverse of your bid form
- Please fill out your bid form completely! We need:
- Your name and complete address for mailing invoices and lots;
- Your telephone number/ email if any problems or changes arise;
- Indicate how you wish to pay for your lots, filling in all sections as appropriate;
- Sign your bid sheet; thereby agreeing to abide by the Terms & Conditions of the Auction as printed in the catalogue
- Mail early, because preference is given to the first bid received in case of an equal bid amount placed by another bidder
- You can also fax your bid form if time is short, Fax Line: +44 (0) 20 7836 7342
